The Nike Zoom Kobe 4 Protro "Gold Medal" is a colorway of Kobe Bryant’s fourth signature shoe that debuted in 2009 and was reissued in 2024. Inspired by the late basketball legend’s captaincy of the 2008 Men’s Olympic Basketball team at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the “Gold Medal” is one of the most popular colorways of Bryant’s fourth signature shoe with Nike Basketball. The upper features Metallic Gold overlays on the toe, forefoot, and heel with a snakeskin texture in honor of Bryant’s “Black Mamba” nickname. Flywire cables appear on the white leather mid-panel. A Dark Obsidian Swoosh with red trim can be found on either side of the shoe. Bryant’s Olympic number “10” appears on the heel, and his “Sheath” logo with Nike is seen on the tongue.
